Nowadays, you don't see as many brides wearing veils, wearing weddding veils may look as tradition at past. However the veil can act as a great accessory to the wedding dress, it can denote elegance, modesty, or regality.
Wedding veils are made of a lightweight material, very sheer. They can be lace or any other material, but these days most are lace. They can be patterned or plain. They can cover the entire face, partially cover the face, or not cover the face at all.
Today's wedding veils are certainly different from what wedding veils used to be in the past. You don't see the faces of brides covered up as much anymore. Instead, the wedding veil has become more of an accessory to highlight both the face of the bride and the wedding dress as well. Wedding veils remind you more of stylish hair combs than what your image might be of a veil. The combs are usually made out of satin, and then nylon netting is sewed onto it, usually only around half of it so that it comes down the back of the bride's head. The longer the wedding veil, the more it's expected to be somehow integrated into the style of the wedding gown.
Of course, wedding veils come in all sorts of styles and colors. Most veils are either white or some kind of version of white, but you will find some of them in colors. It's in the accents where you will find colors suddenly making their way into the mix. For instance, the bride might decide that she wants to add a colorful ribbon to the comb that she puts in her hair. Or she might decide that she wants the colorful rhinestones add up to the wedding veil. This is where a bride might show her sense of style and individuality if she's determined to make her wedding veil stand out.
